Change is afoot! New library catalog to launch the Week of Nov. 15!

The week of Nov. 15, the PIC Library will have a new look when searching for items to borrow or view online. We will be joining the AspenCat Union Catalog, a shared library collection made up of members of the Automation System Colorado Consortium (ASCC).

Please Note:  All Library card holders will need to obtain a new library card and barcode in order to place holds, renew items and login to library databases.  Click here to request a new library card to be mailed to you.

When the PIC Library joins AspenCat, the catalog will contain the records from 23 different ASCC library systems around Colorado. That means PIC Library patrons will have access to some 500,000 books, DVDs, CDs and other items in the catalog from thirty different libraries in Colorado.

Better yet, individuals with library cards at any of the 22 other library systems will be able to visit their home library and place direct holds for any item in the system from their local library catalog.

For example, if you live in Dolores, CO you can visit the public library, search its catalog, and locate resources available at the PIC Library. You can then place a hold and you will receive an email when that item is available to be checked out…from the Dolores Public Library. You would then just check it out and return it like any other book from your home library.

For a complete list of libraries where you can request materials from PIC Library or any other library in the system, please click the map below.
